One step closer to our mission trip departure! One is not truly prepared for a summer youth trip until the food and supply shopping adventure has been completed. Walmart is one of those places that has pretty much whatever is needed for a youth road trip. I ventured to Walmart this afternoon to pick up a few necessities for our departure early Saturday morning in just 3 short days.
Just a peak into my shopping basket this afternoon....
4 packages of lunch meat, cheese, bread, tortilla sandwich wraps, fruits, vegetables, Peanut butter, condiments, lunch sized individual packs of chips, hummus, large box of gold fish crackers, breakfast items, individual size bottles of Sunny D, Rice Krispie treats, mini muffins, beef jerky, a case of water, duct tape, rope, work gloves, first aid kit, Sharpie markers, a fuzzy pillow, Mickey Mouse sheets, paper towels....among some other random
items....I wonder what the lady at the check out stand was thinking with the interesting mix of items in my cart!? Especially that last part of my list.
I would if I were the one checking me out today.
There are definitely a lot of details to remember and things to gather before leaving on any youth trip but it is all worth it when you get on the road, heading towards your destination and you have everything you need along the way, while still trying to "pack light." Even some things you didn't think you would actually use but ended up needing so you are glad you brought them.
But whatever you need you can usually find it all at Walmart in one stop!
